Download LobstackSomeone needs a poster, flyer, invitation or announcement: an event, a launch, an opening, a sale, a menu board.
Collect the facts that must be on it: what, when (day, date, time), where, how to get in or buy, and who it is from. Ask for any that are missing rather than inventing them.
Decide the one thing seen from three metres away — usually the name of the event or the offer — and make it the largest element by far (the display or display-xl class).
Build it with post_design at size a4 (print) or story or square (screens). Put the details in a tight block of two or three lines, and the from-line in small mono type.
Use one strong colour on a quiet background, or the reverse. Add texture or a shape only when it supports the idea.
Draw any icon or illustration in inline SVG; use a photo only when one was attached here.
Proofread every date, time and price against what you were given.
Never print, publish or send it anywhere; hand over the files.
