Provider price + 15%
Included usage is now billed at the provider's price. Past it, models cost provider price + 15%. Free is $5 to start, then your own key or Copilot.
Five days ago we cut the Gateway rate to the provider's price plus 5%. Today it goes to plus 15%, and only on usage past what your plan includes. Your plan's included usage is now billed at exactly the provider's price.
Why
Two numbers did not work.
At plus 5%, a top-up earned less than the card fee on it. We were paying to sell credit.
The free $1 of credit every Monday cost us about $4 a month for every free user who used it, for as long as they stayed.
What changed
- Included usage is at provider price. Developer's $10 a month buys $10 of what the provider charges, call by call.
- Past it, provider price + 15%. The same for credit you top up. A call that crosses the line is split, and its receipt says so.
- Top-ups start at $10. Any whole amount from $10 to $1,000. Credit does not expire.
- No more weekly credit. If you already have this week's dollar, it is still yours until it expires on Monday. No new ones are given.
Free
$5 to start, once: your first sign-in from the Lobstack app adds $5 of credit for 30 days, spent at the provider's price. After that, the app stays free forever with your own provider key or GitHub Copilot. Neither goes through the Lobstack API, so neither is metered by us. Free cannot top up; for more Lobstack API usage, pick a plan.
What did not change
Plan prices: Developer $29, Agency $99, Scale $299 a month. Included amounts: $10, $30 and $100 a month. Your own provider keys on a paid plan stay unlimited and free.
Nothing already recorded is re-priced. Every receipt keeps the rate it was charged at.
The plans are on the pricing page.
