ASI is the direction AI is going. Lobstack builds the part that keeps a person in charge, and every model now comes from a US company.
The company behind Lobstack is called Lobstack ASI. Here is what the name means, and what it doesn't.
What ASI stands for
Artificial superintelligence: AI that is more capable than people across most of what people do. AGI is the step before it, AI that matches people. Nobody can tell you when either arrives, and we won't pretend to. What anyone can see is the direction: the agents you can run today get more capable every month.
What we build
Not the intelligence. Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and xAI build the models. Lobstack builds the layer between those models and your work:
- Every action that changes something waits for your approval.
- Every call has a receipt: which model answered and what it cost.
- Every API key and every client can have a spend cap.
The more capable an agent gets, the more that layer matters. That is the bet in the name: the road to superintelligence needs a person who still decides.
Every model comes from a US company
As of today, every model on Lobstack comes from a US company: Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and xAI. We removed the providers outside the US from the Gateway, the Console, bring-your-own-key and the docs. None of them had served a request through the Gateway, so no bill or receipt changes. A request that still names one of their models is routed like auto, to a US model, and its receipt names the model that answered.
Lobstack is an American company, based in Chicago. Our servers and our database run in the US. Where a model company processes your request is its policy, and our privacy policy lists each one.
What doesn't change
The product is still called Lobstack. Your agents, keys, receipts and plans are untouched.
