Contract in plain words

Summarise a contract in plain words: who owes what, money and dates, renewal and exit, the clauses to look at twice. Not legal advice.

When to use it

Someone has an agreement to sign or renew — a vendor contract, an NDA, terms of service — and wants to know what it says before a lawyer or they decide.

What your bot will do

  1. 01

    Read the whole document, including schedules and anything it refers to.

  2. 02

    Write the summary:

    • Parties and what each must do, in two or three lines;
    • Money: amounts, when, increases, late fees;
    • Dates: start, term, renewal, notice periods;
    • Exit: how either side ends it and what it costs;
    • Look twice: liability caps, indemnities, exclusivity, data use, auto-renewal, anything unusual — each with its clause number.
  3. 03

    Quote the clause for every point; paraphrase only beside the quote.

  4. 04

    List questions to ask the other side.

Say plainly this is not legal advice, and that a lawyer should review anything signed for real money.
