The canvas has tabs
Files, a bot's browser, automations and runs open side by side beside the conversation. Designs show at their real size, and you can point at one element.
In 0.11.0 the canvas beside the conversation held one file. Opening a bot's browser to watch it work closed the file it was writing. In 0.11.3 the canvas is a strip of tabs in one pane: a file, a bot's browser, a routine or a trigger, a run, a workflow run.
Behind, not in front
A file a bot posts while the canvas is open goes behind the tab you are reading, and wears a dot until you look at it. A new version of a file replaces its own tab wherever it is: a file is keyed by its series rather than its version, so ten revisions are one tab. With the canvas focused, Ctrl+Tab moves along the strip and Ctrl/⌘+W closes a tab.
A design at the size it was made
A design is drawn at its true size on a sunken ground, under a bar that says what it is: "Story · 1080 × 1920 · Page 1 of 2". Pages, designs, apps, pictures and diagrams zoom and pan: Fit, 100%, Ctrl/⌘+scroll or pinch, and Space-drag.
Palette lists a design's colours and fonts, and Keep This Palette makes new designs start from them. Ask for options ("show me three") and the bot makes two to four in one call, side by side. Use This picks one; the others stay as versions.
Editing a design's page now renders its PNG and PDF again. Before, the page changed and the PNG beside it kept the old picture, so the file you would actually post was the wrong one, and nothing said so.
Point at the thing you mean
Point lets you click one element in a page, design or app, then Ask for a Change about that element alone. The bot gets its selector, its text and its HTML instead of a description of where on the screen it was.
That is harder than it sounds. A bot's page runs in a sandboxed frame that is never the app's origin, so the app cannot ask the page what is under the pointer. While you point, the canvas adds one small script to the frame: it outlines the element under the pointer and, on a click, posts those three things to the app. Nothing else leaves the frame. With Run scripts off, the frame allows that one script and the page's own still do not run.
Going back loses nothing
Restore This Version makes an older version the newest. Nothing after it is deleted; every version stays, and the restore is itself a version you can step back from.
The same release made the browser tab something you can drive and replay, and gave routines steps and a dry run. The app is free on Mac, Windows and Linux at /download.
